GUIDANCE FOR GYM USE – update 19 August 2020

Welcome back to the gym

We will operate a strict booking system to ensure a Covid-19 safe operation and service for Members and staff. This approach has worked well for the introduction of Outdoor Pool and other sports at the Club following Lockdown.

Our operation will be reviewed regularly and can be extended when further guidelines permit.
We ask that all Members continue to respect the social distancing guidelines and Club policy to ensure the safety of Members, their guests and staff at the Club.

What times will the gym open?

The gym will be open from 6.30am–8pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am–8pm on Saturday and Sundays, this will be reviewed regularly.

Will I need to book to use the gym?

Yes, due to governing body guidelines we will restrict access to a maximum of 20 Members in the gym at any one time. We will therefore be operating 45-minute sessions (with a 15 minute cleaning and sanitising window after each session). Sessions can be booked online via the ‘book studio and pool classes’ link on the Members website or by calling Reception on 020 8480 4200.

Bookings will be available up to 3 days in advance and will open at 6.30am each day, this will be extended in due course.

Yes, we will be turning off every other piece of cardio kit and will have to restrict numbers in the free weight and functional zone areas. Some kit will also be removed from the gym floor if it cannot be easily sanitised in-between use.

Will Members still be able to have personal training sessions?

Yes, Members can still book PT sessions with their trainer. PT sessions will continue to be for 1 hour. We will also be offering outdoor and virtual PT sessions so please speak to your trainer about these or email Emily Hurse Emily.hurse@roehamptonclub.co.uk for more information.

Can I book in a re-programme?

Yes, we would encourage all Members that have not be very active over the lockdown period to book in a re-programme with a trainer and ask that they ease their way back into using the gym and studio facilities. There will be staff to speak to if you have any questions or concerns about using the gym again.

Programme cards will be available to collect and keep if required.

Yes, Juniors will be able to use the gym with an adult Members supervising them between 2-6pm every day.
