An intimate evening with concert pianist Alexandra Balog

 

Thursday 29th May 7pm

 

Listen to the wonderfully talented Alexandra Balog while enjoying a delicious three-course dinner. She will play until dinner is served at 7.45pm, then again after the meal, to be followed by a Q&A.

 

Winner of the 2017 Béla Bartók International Piano Competition in Graz Austria, Alexandra graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2019. Alexandra has been awarded the Fulbright Scholarship to study in New York and featured in Forbes’ ‘30 successful Hungarians under 30’. She also received the most prestigious award in Hungary for young musicians, the Junior Príma prize.

Matt Frei is Europe Editor and Presenter at Channel 4 News and has won two BAFTAs. He has conducted exclusive interviews with US Presidents and presented documentaries on Musk, Putin and Trump plus the war in Ukraine. He was BBC Correspondent in Washington and Hong Kong and has a weekly radio show on LBC.

 

Robert Moore is an award-winning journalist with ITN. He has served as their Diplomatic and Foreign Affairs

editor plus Middle East and Washington correspondent. He was awarded Journalist of the Year in 2021 for his exclusive reporting of the storming of the US Capitol building and is presenting a synopsis of President Trump’s first 100 days of his second term at the end of April.

Ladies’ Choir

 

17th, 24th and 31st January and 28th February at 10.30 – 11.30am and 7th and 14th March at 11am – 12pm in the Squash Courts. 21st March session will be off-site.

 

Led by professional singer, vocal coach and Member Anna Boucher, join these fun and friendly sessions suitable for all abilities.

Recent event reviews

Denbies Wine Estate Tour and Lunch

Wednesday 5th February 10.30am

On Wednesday 5th February, Members visited the Denbies Wine Estate for a tour and lunch. On arrival they were greeted with a glass of fizz and enjoyed a short informational film about the vineyard. This was followed with an indoor tour – by fellow Member Shelley Champman – of the vineyard and production facilities accompanied by three extra glasses of wine to try. The tour finished with a two-course lunch with wine around a lovely table in the Denbies Café. Members had time to stock up on some goodies from the shop before getting back on the coach and heading home!

Walking Tour: Kings, Queens, Clubs and Luxury Retail

Thursday 13th February 2pm

Members joined Viv Haxby in central london for one of her ever-popular walking tours. They walked the streets of Pall Mall and St James’s – exploring statues, private members clubs and retail. One Member said ‘Viv was outstanding. Such an interesting afternoon. Thank you Roehampton Club for organising.’
