Spring Medal
The much-delayed Senior Spring Medal took place on 15th July. Once again, the Club kindly increased the number of tee times available and a total of 63 players (a new record) accepted the challenge of Medal play.
Conditions were excellent but the greens were firm and some of the pin positions were challenging so many of us struggled to put in a good score – at least that is my excuse! Despite all this there were some very good scores. Prizewinners are listed below:
Nett Score
1st Russell Gooding 86/65
2nd Roy Martin 74/66
3rd Raj Vara 84/68
Congratulations to Russell who becomes the first winner of the new Senior Spring Medal Cup (to be presented later this year).
Gross Score
1st Peter McGovern 79
2nd Dan Gidwaney 82
N.B. Roy Martin’s Gross score of 74 was easily the lowest for the competition but we only award one prize per player.
The Senior Autumn Medal takes place on Wednesday 9th September. Another Cup will be awarded for this competition. In addition (and for the first time) the old Annual medal will be awarded for the best Combined Nett score in the two Medal competitions.
Senior Winter Knockouts 2019-20
It gives me great pleasure to announce the results of the Winter Knockouts which were played this week – four months later than scheduled but at least we got there in the end. Thanks to all concerned for persevering during this enforced delay.
Colum Sharkey
