Racquet Director’s Diary
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer. It has been a testing six months for everyone but with schools reopening it feels good to be getting some normality back. Monday 7th September will see the Club restart its coaching programme along with all the social sessions that run each week, although there will be some restrictions in place. Many of the sessions will require Members to sign up at Reception before attending to allow us to keep to safe on-court ratios and keep a log of who has attended the Club throughout the week.
Pay and Plays
These sessions will restart on Mondays and Fridays at 10am till 11:30am and take place on courts 7 and 8. Previously Members could just turn up to attend but now you will be required to call Reception and ‘book in’. These fun sessions consist of some drills along with some organised doubles play. The places will be limited, and the cost is £12.
Ladies Morning
Ladies morning will restart on Thursday 10th September and will take place in the Indoor Tennis Centre and now start at 9:30am till 11am. This session is free of charge but please book in at reception for this each week.
18-35’s Social
The 18-35’s social club night will restart on Monday 7th September at 7:30pm till 9pm and takes place on court 12 – 14. Places are limited to 12. Please call Reception to book in.
Vets Matchplay
The Vets Matchplay is restarting on Thursday 10th September at 1:30pm till 3pm and will take place on courts 12 – 14. The places are limited to 12 and Members will again need to sign up at Reception each week.
Tennis Club Night
Club nights will continue to run through the autumn term on Wednesdays at 6pm till 7:30pm. Please continue to sign up at reception each week. From the 9th of September Club night will take place in the ITC at 6pm until 7:30pm.
Tennis Club afternoon
Club afternoon will be on Saturdays at 3pm till 4:30pm. Through the autumn/winter this will take place on courts 12-14. Please sign up at Reception.
Club Championships
I am pleased that the Club Championships are underway in a more condensed format than usual with all matches of the 13 events are being played throughout this week. We have already had some very competitive matches with many more to come. The semi-finals are due to be played on Saturday 5th with the Finals on Sunday 6th September. All weekend matches will be played on grass courts 25 to 28. We have some of the Club’s Men’s and Ladies First Team players competing so come along and spectate as the standard will he high. (social distancing will be observed). The Junior club championships will also be held on Sunday 6th September. All events will be played throughout the day and will be followed by a small socially distanced presentation.

Junior Programme
If you have not yet signed your children up to the junior coaching programme there are still a few places left in some of the groups. All children who sign up for a course this term will receive a free Roehampton Club T-shirt. Please contact Nikolai.snapes@roehamptonclub.co.uk for more info.
