PhotoClub Focus

Reading Room Exhibition

The PhotoClub has had an active month with an exhibition of classwork held in the Reading Room from the beginning of October until mid November. Halfway through the images were changed for a mixture of class work and images taken during the European Squash Club Championships.

Lightroom workshop

Adrian Beasley, an Adobe Certified Expert, came to give us a workshop on using Lightroom.  There were eight participants who enjoyed the day and the PhotoClub looks forward to arranging more of these workshops in the future.

PhotoClub walks

We had an enjoyable walk round the golf course in mid November with Andrew Wilson and we were blessed with a wonderful afternoon of beautiful golden light and no rain. There will be a review in January of these images together with the photographs taken during our visit to Kew Gardens and the Japanese garden earlier in the autumn.

Following on from our outing in October there was a visit to Southwark Cathedral on a day with beautiful light. While the photographers were in the same place, the way they were able to see and capture such totally different images was really interesting. There were many exclamations of ‘where was that?!’ during the review in the class last week.

Spring classes

The 2025 spring term classes will run Thursday 16th January to 13th February, then 27th February to 27th March. Morning classes will run from 10am to 12.30pm and the afternoon classes run from 1pm to 3.30pm. Many of us meet for lunch in the Club Café between the classes.

Diana Kinloch

PhotoClub Members were very sad to learn of the recent death of Diana Kinloch. She was a founder member of the PhotoClub and went on many of the early river trips and other outings. She was a very efficient minute taker for the Steering Group Committee and  regularly exhibited in the Annual Photography Exhibition.
