Sauna room update

We would like to apologise for the delay in the refurbishment of the sauna. We understand that this has caused some frustration, and we appreciate your patience during this time. The delay was due to delays in the materials arriving onsite and some snagging issues that took longer than anticipated to rectify. I am pleased to inform you that the sauna is now fully operational, and we are excited to welcome you back to enjoy the facilities again – Stuart Reeks, Health Club Manager.

Adult-only swimming at weekday lunchtimes in the school holidays

With more requests from adults with Juniors wanting to access the indoor swimming pool over the weekday lunchtime period during school holidays the Health Club Committee has agreed to trial removing the 12-1pm adult-only swim time over the upcoming February half term.

We will still have a lane available solely for adults to swim in at this time. Juniors with adults will be granted access to either the general lane swimming or to join the lane swimming if they meet the requirements of the lane swimming policy which is detailed below. This trial will be effective from Monday 17th February to Friday 21st February.

The adult only swim sessions on weekdays 6–9am and 8–9pm and 7-9am and 7-8pm on weekends will remain.

Lane swimming update

Following recent feedback from Members the Health Club Committee have agreed to change the current guidelines to allow under 16s to participate in lane swimming from 1st February. For a Junior Member to be able to lane swim they will be either:

◊ Enrolled in the Club’s swim school and are at Stage 5 or above
◊ Or a club swimmer in an official swim club

If the Junior doesn’t meet the above criteria, then Ana, Peter or a member of their team will complete an assessment where the junior will be required to swim 100m in the stroke of their choice continuously to a good standard, and lane etiquette will be taught. These assessments will need to be booked in advance with Ana Leal, Family Activities Manager at ana.leal@roehamptonclub.co.uk

Juniors that meet the above criteria will be required to collect a yellow band from Health Club Reception which will indicate to the Lifeguard Team that they are suitable for lane swimming.

For more information please contact Stuart Reeks, Health Club Manager at stuart.reeks@roehamptonclub.co.uk

Changing room etiquette

Please can all Members ensure that their children are supervised while in the changing room. We pride ourselves on providing a clean and safe environment for everyone to use, however, recently we have had a few situations where children have either damaged or misused the changing rooms which has caused additional work for the Housekeeping Team. The consumption of food is forbidden in the changing room – please purchase from and consume food in the Juice Bar.

Studio Etiquette

We’d like to remind you that arriving on time for your group exercise class is essential for both your experience and the flow of the session. If you arrive after the class has started, your space will be given to someone on the waitlist who is on time. If you are unable to attend the class, and its more than 12 hours before the start of the class you will be able to cancel your booking online. If it’s less than 12 hours you need to call the Health Club reception 0208 480 4245.
