Piazza Pavilion

The new Pavilion in the Piazza will be open and ready for Members when the Club re-opens on Wednesday 2nd December. We can’t wait to see you return and enjoy our new refreshment area which has heating and lighting fitted and, when the protective glazing arrives from Italy in a few weeks’ time, this will be a warm comfortable area to enjoy with friends before and after play all year round.

Piazza Coffee Shop

The refreshment trailer has now become our Piazza Coffee Shop and will continue to offer a range of hot and cold drinks, freshly made sandwiches, pastries, hot sausage rolls and soup as well as some new items. Click here to view the Piazza Coffee Shop Menu. The final designs are being made to our brand new unit which we hope to have in place within the next few weeks.

Bar Terrace Canopy

To enable outside dining all year round we have installed a new canopy on the Terrace. With heating and lighting and soon to come glazing, there is seating for 16 covers.

Dining at the Club

If you wish to eat at the Club (in the Club Café or Restaurant) we encourage you to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. It is essential on The Terrace, where there is limited availability, although we will accommodate walk-ins where possible.

We continue to ensure that we comply with Government guidance, as well as ensuring the safety of our Members, guests and staff.  London has been placed in Tier 2 which means that we can only serve alcohol with a substantial meal.  You must order some food to accompany your alcoholic beverage.

The rule of six applies outdoors and single households only are permitted inside. If you have booked a table to eat, as you enter the Club through the front door, there is a one-way system in place directing you to the Bar Terrace / Garden Restaurant / Club Café.

Home Cooking Recipes and Tips by Arnaud Delannay

Poached Egg

  • Bring a large pan of water to the boil (4L of water for 200ml WW vinegar), place your eggs into individual bowls (no more than six at the time).
  • Whisk the water when at a simmering point to create a spiral, drop the eggs one at the time, cook for four minutes in simmering water (not boiling).
  • Take out of the poaching water, drain off the water, finish with olive oil and sea salt.

Pancakes

5 eggs
650ml milk
50gr melted butter
650gr plain flour
7tbs baking powder
10tbs caster sugar
1tbs table salt

15 portions

  • Using an electric blender, combine all the dry ingredients ( sugar, salt, baking powder, plain flour), add half on the milk and start mixing.
  • When the ingredients start to combine, add the eggs one at the time, then add the other half of the milk.
  • Allow the mix to rest in the fridge for at least two hours.
  • For the cooking, use a non-stick fried pan on low heat with a small amount of vegetable
    oil.
  • One medium size ladle full will make a good size pancake, place it gently in the pan.
  • Cook very gently for approximately two minutes, then turn and cook for another two minutes and the pancakes are ready to serve.

Almond Financiers

220g of unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
85g of plain flour
100g of ground almonds
250g of icing sugar
208g of egg white, room temperature
20gr toasted flaked almonds

◊ Grease a 24-cup mini muffin tin and chill in the fridge until required

◊ Add the butter to a small pan and heat gently until it starts to turn a golden-brown
colour. As soon as it does, remove from the heat and set aside

◊ Mix together all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and gently stir in the egg whites

◊ Gradually stir in the warm butter until a smooth batter forms. Cover with cling film and
refrigerate for two hours

◊ Preheat the oven to 200°C/gas mark 6

◊ Spoon the batter into the chilled tins, filling each tin until it is 3/4 full.

◊ Bake the financiers in the oven for 8-10 minutes until firm to the touch and golden, then
leave to cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes. Once cool, allow to cool completely on
wire racks before serving

Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Remove from the
pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool

I look forward to seeing you back at the Club soon,
