Ukraine donations appeal
The Ukraine Donations Appeal got off to a flying start with Members being extremely generous with their donations of needed items and offers of volunteers.
Roehampton Club Member Angela Lo has been helping at the Prosperity Ukrainian Restaurant in Twickenham with their donation collection point for Ukraine run completely by volunteers.
Vans come to the donation point a couple of times a day, are driven out to lorries then drive to Poland and onto Ukraine to get the donations to where they are desperately needed.
The restaurant has been featured on Sky News, BBC, and various news programmes.
Angela has also been collecting at Putney High and Harrodian schools and the Club would like to encourage Members to join in the appeal.
Angela has confirmed that, since the appeal to Members, among other activities, some friends have managed to move a whole orphanage to a safer location and are attempting to get the donations out to them and others.
The Prosperity restaurant has created a website with lots of useful information for anyone who wants to learn more. They have added links to monetary donations as well to help cover the costs. www.londondonationsforukraine.org/
Donations don’t have to be much but they have to be new – a pack of nappies, baby food, batteries etc. See the list of items needed below:
