Chair’s Message

Dear Member,

This message is quite short as the January Board meeting has not happened yet.

The last fortnight has seen very cold, frosty mornings which has meant the golf course has been carry only.  When conditions allow, Peter Bradburn and his team permit trolleys from mid morning and we are very grateful to them for lifting the carry-only rule when they can.

The extreme cold temperatures have also caused some technical issues with the frost protection systems in the ITC and Airhalls. These have now been rectified and will be monitored closely during any further cold spells.

The Club Café upgrade is proceeding according to plan and the temporary food and beverage arrangements seem to be working very well.

Work has started on the installation of solar panels on all the Club’s roofs.

We are working on revised plans for the Indoor Golf Centre to keep the building to a maximum of 1000m2. If we exceed this size, the plans will need to go to the GLA.

Hopefully we have now seen the end of the frosty mornings.

Best wishes

Vivien Harris
