Bridge Report
Roehampton Club has won back the Hurlingham Cup which we narrowly lost to Hurlingham last year. Ron reports that ‘It was a convivial evening of competitive bridge, with Roehampton emerging clear winners on +80 IMPs’.
Congratulations to the team of Ron Wood and Arnold Tonbridge, Jeanette Reid and Peter Bonnor-Moris, Viv Harris and Paul Ambrus, Peter Hardyment and Philip Howard, Ellie and Myles Elliott, Maria Wiehe and Julie Bacon.

We have played all our matches in the Surrey Lawn Tennis Club Bridge League, playing three in the last two weeks. The team of Val Lanceley, Caroline Jenkins, Sue Norgate, Rita Gallinari, Verena Higgs and myself have won nine, drawn two and lost one of our twelve matches. Unfortunately the margin of the wins means that we are unlikely to hold onto the trophy that we managed to win last year. Victory points are everything in this league. The results won’t be announced until 13th May when the end-of-league dinner is held, so there is always hope!
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Monday afternoon tea survey. I am discussing the results with the Committee and will let you know what we propose to do soon.
