Bridge Blog – 9 February 2023

Bridgewebs

We have signed up to the Bridgewebs platform which is a website designed specifically for bridge clubs. It has many features including an easy to access calendar, access to results, current news and much more. You will still be sent your duplicate results via pianola.

It is a live system so as well as including our regular fixtures, matches, etc it will also show when the bridge room is in use for other activities such as teaching sessions. This will be helpful for those who organise league fixtures. This is a work in progress and more content will be added in due course.

Here is the link to access the site: bit.ly/rcbridgewebs

Cakes!

Last Monday we were pleased to welcome back Paul Ambrus to the bridge room after a six-week absence due to illness. Following the duplicate Paul treated us all to some delicious celebratory cakes.

Paul writes …

‘After an absence of one and a half months I wanted to compensate my fellow players for my return. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Debora and the Pastry Chef for the Lucullan cakes of the Sacher Torte school boasting of the whole spectrum of harmonic textures under Debora’s masterly baton.’

Bridge Room

Thank you to everyone who has helped to keep the bridge room de-cluttered of glasses and crockery following our notices requesting they be cleared away after play.
