Wishing you a very happy new year. We look forward to and are hoping for a full uninterrupted programme of bridge.
Unfortunately, we did have to postpone the early January scheduled date for the Miller Cup, but I am pleased to advise that we have a new date scheduled– Sunday 20th March.
The Miller cup is a fun individual event, and all are welcome. There will be further advertisements and a sign-up sheet posted nearer the time. Please make a note in your diary.
Team Practice
The next Team Practice date is Friday 21st January. There is a sign-up sheet on the Bridge Board in Reception.
Bridge Etiquette
Please could I remind everyone that food is not allowed to be consumed in the Bridge Room. I mention this here as not everyone will necessarily be aware of this long-standing rule at Roehampton Club as some other bridge clubs do permit this.
Congratulations
Annick Lever one of our bridge members and regular Monday afternoon players, was awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year’s Honours list for her services to Holocaust Education and Awareness. On behalf of the membership, I would like to congratulate Annick on her receipt of this honour.
Beginner’s Bridge
Tim Chanter’s Beginners bridge course resumes in January with a taster session on the 18th January.
If you are aware of anyone who may wish to join these classes, full information is available at reception.
