Bridge Report

Dear All,

Great news. The Summer Party will be going ahead on 1st July at 6pm. We have been slow to confirm the party as we were not sure that it would be able to happen. We are still not completely certain whether any of the guidelines will change so we have decided to have a Drinks Party with canapés. This way, I hope, we can all meet up whatever new rules may or may not emerge. Details are still being finalised, but the tickets should go on sale shortly.

In the meantime, please keep the date free.

I am hoping that we may be able to run some Chicago Bridge after the Drinks in the Bridge Room. But as that is not yet certain to happen, we will start with bookings for the Drinks. I will let you know as soon as I can whether Bridge will be available as well.

We had a good win over Queen’s Club in a match which was played on 13th May. Roehampton Club won by +47 imps.

Many congratulations to Peter H and Philip Howard, Peter BM and Jeanette; Ron and Ralph; Paul A and Viv

We have a Match vs RAC Pall Mall on BBO on Tuesday 15th June at 4.30pm.

Julie needs four pairs. If you would like to be considered for the match, please email Julie at julie@juliebacon.plus.com

There are some golf/bridge matches and one tennis/bridge match scheduled for the summer – details are still to be confirmed but those who are interested may like to pencil in the following dates:

7th July – Wimbledon Common – Ladies Golf and Bridge

12th July – Coombe Hill – Mixed Golf and Bridge

27th July – Tennis and Bridge vs Hurlingham – mixed

20th August – MCC – Mixed Golf and Bridge

We hope to be able to play face-to-face Bridge in the Bridge Room. Please look out for full details posted on this blog in the coming weeks.

The monthly teams’ event will continue for the moment.

The next one is on 25th June at 3pm. I do hope that many of you will come along and join in a fun and sociable game of Bridge. Please can you let me know if you will be entering a team so that I can make sure that the movement is set up correctly.

Hopefully in the next Blog I will be able to set out the guidelines for opening the Bridge Room at the end of June. Let us hope that nothing changes in the meantime.

See you all soon,

Kate Blake | Bridge Chair
