We had a fine day on Friday 5th August playing the annual golf/backgammon match against the RAC. I am pleased to say that Roehampton Club won both the golf and the backgammon. A very special mention to David Moss who scored 47 (!) Stableford points and then won two of his three backgammon matches.
He may shortly be visited by the handicap committee! The other team members were Peter Bonnor-Moris, Hassan Dajani, Peter Trueman and Chris Bray. The breakfast and lunch were excellent so, all in all, an excellent event. Our thanks to all the staff who made sure the day ran without any issues and provided such excellent fare.
Over lunch the two clubs agreed that we would expand the number of players next year. While some players will play both games there will be room for people who only play one of the two disciplines.
We will also have a trophy. In honour of Sarah Adlam, who was a member of both clubs, and who sadly died earlier this year, the trophy will be named after her.
