We are pleased to say that live backgammon has returned to the Club. A photo of the first live session for sixteen months is shown as the players enjoyed the fine weather in our gardens.

 

For the moment we will continue to run an online session every Tuesday between 16:00 and 17:30 and the live indoor Teatime Backgammon session has resumed in its normal slot of 16:00 to 18:00 on Thursday afternoons. We will shortly be announcing details of monthly Club evenings.

 

The delayed Club Championship is about to start. For this year only we will be running it as a knockout tournament using the double elimination format.

 

There is a meeting of the London League Captains this week and we expect that the 2021-2022 league season will run as normal with matches against the nine other clubs taking place between October and May.

Croquet and Backgammon Event – Tuesday 14th September

Registration is now open at Reception in the main clubhouse for the third Croquet and Backgammon Event. The cost is £21 to include prizes and a fish supper with coffee/tea and petit fours. Please let us know if you would like a vegetarian alternative.
Please email us at chris.bray@btconnect.com advising us that you have registered at Reception. The deadline for registration is Friday 3rd September.

The start time is 3.45pm in the Croquet Pavilion. The croquet should finish about 6.15pm and supper will be served in the clubhouse at 7pm. This will be followed by some fun games of backgammon. We anticipate concluding the evening by 10pm.

Croquet Dress Code: NO whites required

Even if you haven’t played croquet or backgammon for a while please come along and enjoy some light-hearted play. If you would like a croquet or backgammon practice before the event, please contact Gill at gillianbray@btconnect.com to arrange a session.
We do hope you will join us on 14th September for what should be a most enjoyable event.
