Great Britain’s Oliver Bonding and Kaitlyn Rolls of the United States are the latest players to claim J500 silverware after conquering all before them on the clay courts of Blumenau, Brazil. Victory at J500 Blumenau – a tournament also known as the Banana Bowl – represents the biggest title of Bonding’s fledgling career and a major step in his on-court development. After triumphing at J300 Barranquilla, Oliver stormed his way to the boys’ final where he defeated Japan’s Naoya Honda 7-5 6-4. The 16-year-old is only the fourth British boy to win a J500 singles title and the first since George Morgan, who topped the podium at the 2010 Orange Bowl. Evening with Fleur Anderson – Wandsworth is the 2025 Borough of Culture
Many Members have commented how pleasing it was to listen to local MP Fleur talk last week not only about important national and Wandsworth specific issues, but acknowledging the role Roehampton Club plays and can continue to play within the local community. Chair Michael Hill did an excellent job interviewing Fleur covering many topics of interest.
Hot off the press is the awarding of 2025 London Borough of Culture to LB Wandsworth where the Club will look to play its part.
Best wishes,
Marc
