Works Update

The fitting of solar panels on all the roofs is nearly complete with the panels operative on the Grounds Buildings and Health Club. Works are being completed on the Sports Hall, Studio and main Clubhouse.

The Grounds Team have taken up the turf on the lawn next to the Clubhouse for turf repairs across the Club’s grounds and are now re-seeding the area for new turf to grow in the spring.

A temporary stair lift has been fitted to the Clubhouse main staircase for when the works start to refurbish the Clubhouse lift to meet the new safety requirements. This will help Members to access the first floor when the 8-week work programme is underway which we hope to start in April.

Swimming Pool Closures

In the past seven weeks there have been six pool contaminations due to children vomiting or defecating in the indoor pool. These incidents mean we have to close the indoor pool for at least six hours afterwards to ensure all the contaminated water is replaced.

This causes great inconvenience to many other Members, not to mention the significant increase in the pool operational costs of more chemicals and water being used as part of the rectification process. If we feel that the accident is avoidable then we will have to charge Members for the extra costs and inconvenience involved.

All parents must ensure the Health Club swimming pool rules are followed at all times when children are using the pools, either their own children or any junior guests. Click here for these rules Thank you for your co-operation.

Adam Turner climbs Mount Kilimanjaro!

Congratulations to Adam, Health Club Fitness trainer, who successfully reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (19,500 feet) on Saturday 4th March to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice. A few days ago, his total raised had reached £2,215 with the majority donated from his generous clients at the Club.

Best wishes,

Marc
