Richard Harrison

Fellow of the Professional Golfers Association

Richard HarrisonI am honoured to be the Club professional at Roehampton Club and I enjoy its vibrancy, loyal Members and I am very proud of our standards.

I have been a professional golfer since 1993, originally learning the game on the Lytham coast and I came to London in 1994.

Fellowship of the PGA

I was made a Fellow of the PGA in 2012. This award recognises management and coaching achievements, growing the game, the success of the Junior Programme and our nomination for Club of the Year, media work, and work with various community projects.

There are currently 7,000 PGA members worldwide and the top three levels of recognition are:

  • Fellows of the PGA - 155 of these.
  • Advanced Fellows of the PGA - 46 of these; National Team Coaches, European Tour coaches, PGA authors, course architects.
  • Master PGA Professionals - only 33 of these worldwide; John Jacobs, David Leadbetter, Peter Alliss and such like - internationally renowned golf professionals.

Club Professional

My role at the Club is to provide the golf service to members and this includes 1st tee starting, running competitions, administering the Junior golf programme and offering coaching services with my team. I sit on four committees at Roehampton Club to enable me to work with the membership in making the golf service as good as we can.

The Shop

I run the shop as an independent franchise and my team of Professional Golfers and I offer the very best service and products and prices. With loyal membership support we are able to keep prices competitive but with a personalised service.

Coach

My coaching style is to create a structured programme to attain your goals - be it handicap achievement, handicap reduction or just simply developing the ability to play the game with your friends without any fear.

I have been fortunate enough to spend time with Butch Harmon (Tiger Woods coach for most of his Major triumphs) and other top coaches and keep myself up to date with the latest research, trends and the world of coaching by attending coaching conferences with the games best coaches. I enjoy the history of the game and am a student of it.

I have coached former European Tour players, national and county representatives at junior level but have spent most of my time developing busy people into capable golfers. My goal is to show you how better players achieve consistency and how you can apply simple, solid fundamentals to your own game.

I look forward to developing your game.
